Privacy policy

This policy explains what information DesiListing ("we", "us") collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and, if you add one, your phone number. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google.
• Ads you post: the text, photos, price, area and the contact details you choose to show (phone, WhatsApp, email). These are published so other visitors can contact you.
• Messages you send us through the contact form, and reports you file about ads.
• Usage information: pages viewed and the number of views on each ad, plus basic technical data such as browser type and IP address, used to run and protect the site.

How we use it

• To create your account, publish your ads and let you edit, renew or delete them.
• To send you service emails, such as when your ad is approved or needs a change, and password resets.
• To review ads and reports, and to prevent spam, fraud and misuse.
• To understand which features are used so we can improve the site.

We do not sell your personal information.

What other people can see

Ads are public. Anyone can see the ad text, photos, area and the name you give. Contact details in your ad are shown to visitors so they can reach you, except in categories marked "members only" (such as Matrimonial), where they are shown only to logged-in members. Please don't put information in an ad that you don't want to be public.

Cookies

We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. Advertising partners may also use cookies, as described below.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We show ads from local businesses and may use Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at www.aboutads.info. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the site: Supabase (database, login and photo storage), Resend (sending emails) and our hosting provider. They process information only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep information

Ads expire after their listing period and can be deleted by you at any time from My account; deleting an ad also deletes its photos. Account information is kept while your account is active. Ask us and we will delete your account and its ads.

Your choices

• Edit or delete your ads and profile details from My account.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, through the contact page.

Children

This site is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or post ads.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated policy.
